In these uncertain times amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become more than ever important to stay fit so that you don't come out of this as an obese or overweight individual. Now maybe the perfect time to get active and fulfill that new year's resolution that you were thinking at the start of 2020.
Granted that we are all grappled with uncertainty and worry about our futures but it is easier to divert your mind by just exercising a little in your homes while in quarantine or in lockdown.
We present here the best recommendations to stay active and fit from the comfort of your homes. You don't need a gym to stay fit!
To escape despondency and despair, we recommend the following steps that you can start doing today:
- Maintain a uniform schedule, Wake up early and go outside if possible to take the fresh air in every day
- If you have a spouse or a partner, involve them too so that you can motivate each other
- Start with light exercise, some cardio, push-ups and do at least 5 reps set of each
- Eat healthy! Its very important to not go overboard on junk food while binging on Netflix. Eat organic green veggies, eggs and lean meat and fresh fruits.
- Studies have shown that just a little exercise can really uplift one's mood and its the key to staving off depression especially if living alone.
- If you got a treadmill or a peloton bike at home then make a schedule and dedicate some time every day to work out at least 20 minutes on it.
Lastly, don't forget that everyone else is going through the same as you so don't overthink and just try to stay positive, get in touch with your friends or family over skype and zoom (if you are not already with them). Together, we will overcome this calamity soon!
